The Wine Down with Laithwaites and Elizabeth Day

Podcast listeners will know Elizabeth Day from her fantastic series How to Fail and her bestselling book of the same name.

The chart-topping podcast celebrates things that haven’t gone right but ironically can’t seem to step a foot wrong, as its featured a host of big names including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Gloria Steinem, and was named Rising Star Award at the 2019 British Podcast Awards.

Elizabeth writes a column for The Mail on Sunday and her past novels: The Party, Paradise City, Home Fires and Scissors, Paper, Stone have picked up several awards.

Her latest book Magpie is a psychological thriller about motherhood, jealousy and struggles with fertility.

We poured Elizabeth a glass of our award-winning, oak-fermented Chardonnay La Voûte and spoke to her about the novel.

We discussed her writing habits, including making her home feel like a coffee shop, and how her taste in wine has improved over the years.

You can watch our interview below and stay tuned for more author videos from The Wine Down with Laithwaites including Candice Brathwaite, John Simpson, Iain MacGregor and Sir Vince Cable.

Laithwaites is proud to be sponsoring Henley Literary Festival for an 11th consecutive year.
