Laithwaites launches pop-up brunch to celebrate NEW sparkling red

Laithwaites celebrated the launch of their new sparkling red, L’Occhiolino, in true Italian style this weekend with the ‘L’Occhiolino Brunch at Cin Cin Fitzrovia’ – serving a three course Italian brunch experience for one weekend only.

For the L’Occhiolino Brunch at Cin Cin Fitzrovia, Laithwaites partnered with the team at the popular London restaurant Cin Cin to design the menu, which was created specifically by head chef Jamie Halsall to match the lightly sparkling, low-alcohol red.

From classic focaccia and courgette flower fritti stuffed with truffled ricotta, to eggs in purgatory – free range poached eggs in warming, herb & tomato sauce – brunch favourites with an Italian twist were enjoyed al fresco, all paired with L’Occhiolino.

One happy customer said of the event: “My friends and I had the most incredible morning and early afternoon. The wine 🍷 was amazing, the food was spectacular. The service at cin cin was brilliant! I really couldn’t of asked for anything more. Thank you so much again for choosing me. My friends and I felt very lucky.”

Cin Cin started life as a Brighton street food destination based in a 1972 Fiat 850 van. Now in its second summer season in London, this much-loved dining spot in Fitzrovia offers an intimate neighbourly atmosphere with world-class modern Italian dining. “It’s the perfect location to host a L’Occhiolino brunch,” says Leo Bassano, Italian Buyer for Laithwaites. “The wine is ripe and playful, bursting with balsamic and red cherry notes. Crisp, fruity, it makes you take another sip right away… it goes well with salty food such as Prosciutto and Parmiggiano (a local match in Emilia Romagna), but also barbecue sausages, hot dogs or English breakfast. It is very versatile. Every glass offers a superb balance of style and fun – just like Cin Cin. I’m excited about the brunch … wow! … those courgette flowers are worth going for alone!”
