We’re sponsoring the Merry Marmalade Award

Making and tasting tasty things ….

We are partnering with the Marmalade Festival on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March 2014 and we’re sponsoring one of the awards. You don’t have to make marmalade to come along and join us, though we’d be very impressed if you did!

It is a celebration of all things marmalade (plus much, much more) and we’ll be hosting wine tastings throughout the weekend.  We have also arranged two 30 minute tastings in the Family Kitchen on Saturday 1st March at 12.45pm and Sunday 2nd March at 1.15pm. These tastings will focus on what we make – wine, not marmalade – from Australia to Bordeaux. Tickets are free to Laithwaite’s customers (email john.kemp@laithwaiteswine.com if you want to reserve some).

It’s going to be a great family day out, with a Food & Craft Fair, the chance to meet Paddington Bear, music, workshops, demonstrations, and lots of children’s activities.

Competition entries, Dalemain Marmalade Festival

Have you made your marmalade yet?

If you can cook up a nice batch, and add a little alcohol to your blend, you might win the Merry Marmalade award. Yes, that’s right, if you enter the world famous Marmalade Awards hosted by the wonderful Jane Hasell-McCosh at Dalemain Estate in The Lake District, you could be collecting a bottle of Laithwaite Champagne from our events chap, John Kemp on Saturday 1st March.

You can now buy Early Bird tickets for the Dalemain Marmalade Festival Early Bird Ticket online. Only £4 entry per adult, kids go free. Simply bring the email receipt of your purchase to the Marmalade Festival and use it as your entry ticket. Alternatively just turn up on the day.

We know our winegrowers like family – and in some cases they actually are. Expect to hear from these legends of the soil, see behind the scenes access into vineyards and wineries and get news on fresh finds from our travels on this page. Drink responsibly.
